Jelly is just a bunch of guys. You know - ordinary, hard-working men who spend their weary days forging steel and driving trucks - that kind of thing. But Jelly didn't just spontaneously burst forth from the bountiful womb of Mother Rock. Read on to discover the surprising, sometimes shocking, evolution of Marin's most sanguine sextet...

Guitar, Vocals

Eric began playing guitar in 1982, at age 11. He employed a local teacher in hopes of learning Eruption, yet to his dismay, he was assigned Twinkle Twinkle Little Star - Rock Mode, and promptly put down the instrument until 1989. His first gig was in 1992, as a sit-in with the Skidmore College hee-haw spectacle, Pokey Mutton Bluegrass Excursion. Post-college, he moved to Washington, DC and co-founded the House of Slack basement band, which played a long series of weekly happenings. He moved to San Francisco in 1995, and within a week had formed Los Dos Locos with fellow songwriter and climbing partner, Jack Shite. Soon, more friends joined, and LDL morphed into the rock and roll band Squirmer. After several years of probable hearing damage, Eric and Jack re-formed as Brody. They soon began participating in the online songwriting forum Songfight!, and within a few months had taken home three titles. The following year, Eric met a man called "Stewball" at west Marin's Two Bird, and was soon introduced to Don Zimmer. After one gig as The EZS, the Jelly began to coagulate.

Alden Feldon
Bass, Vocals

Although music has been at the heart of Alden’s life since he was a child, he did not play in his first rock and roll band (Abdul and the Barking Lizards) until he was 25 years old. Since then he has played non-stop in dozens of bands (“If I could remember how many, it would be because I hadn’t played in any of them”).  Before moving to California in 1997, Alden played in Cincinnati, Paris (FR) and Chicago, most famously as a founding member of Crazy Fingers, a band that toured major clubs in the Midwest in the 80’s and 90’s playing music by The Grateful Dead (duh) and other rock and roll notables. Over time, Alden was writing his own music and with his brother Andrew and friends released two CD’s, “In Your Garden” (1992 by The Wild Weeds) and “In Days of Dreaming” (2000 by Curve West). Although he is a lefty, Alden plays bass and guitar right-handed (piano left-handed). Because he was born without a sense of humor, Alden reads a lot of Philosophy books and now, due to excessive amount of thinking, he has rendered himself unemployable. So, he’s a life coach and a living poet.

James Manning
Piano, Keyboards, Vocals

James's musical career began in 1984 playing the violin in various Welsh orchestras before realizing that he was competing with a hundred other similarly untalented children and was clearly going nowhere. After deceiving the local education authority into buying him a bass guitar and giving him free lessons, he joined the Gwent Youth Big Band, delighting young and old (but mostly old) with classics from Glen Miller, Count Basie and the theme from Magnum P.I. Luckily, James's mates enticed him away from the jazz towards a bass playing role in local Welsh band Scorched Earth. This unlikely collection of greasy Kevins went on to call themselves Gravity Hill (and later Crashland) and before he knew what was going on, James found himself opening up for former Whitesnake legends Micky Moody and Bernie Marsden. Thankfully, it's been all uphill since then. James can be heard tinkling the ivories in several local Marin bands including The Meloncauliflowers, The Athletic Hounds and The Fiver Brown Band. James lives in "The Valley" with his wife Cami, daughter Meya and new addition Henry.

RT Weber
Drums, Percussion

Admittedly a rhythm addict, RT has chopped lots of wood spending countless days in marching bands, pit orchestras, jazz, wind and percussion ensembles while honing his skills on drumset over the last 25 years.  He has performed with numerous artists throughout New England including the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, Vermont Jazz Ensemble and “The Helicopter Consortium” playing original music steeped in the improvisational world of Frank Zappa before moving to the bay area.  He strives to blend the discipline of an orchestral musician, with the improvisation of jazz and the energy of rock.  For the last few years, he has had the pleasure of playing music with Jelly, and other talented musicians in Marin and beyond.

Don Zimmer
Lead Guitar

Don plays guitar. That's what he does. Beginning in 1988 with "Gilbert and the Hurricaines" and rockin' cover tunes, to the "The Flying Dutchman" with all original recordings, Don began his guitar career. His subsquent band, "The Holdouts", scored a record contract with German based Taxim Records, with their album, "Moon over Bolinas", which was critically acclaimed by Rolling Stone Magazine. Following that mega-success, came a whirlwind of musical ventures from "The Vortex of the Farallons", which rocked the city of San Francisco for three years with huge downtown concerts, to the instrumental stylings of the band "Wherewithall", to his solo project, "Two Dogs Trading Post". The never-ending search for the ultimate jam lead him to "Jelly". Don can't get enough guitar.
